Job Description

Architects design buildings and other type of structures. Architects must design buildings that are not only attractive but also safe, functional and economical. An architect requires skills in design, engineering, managing, supervising and communicating with clients.

Necessary Education

5 year Bachelor’s Degree

Helpful High School Courses

Advanced Mathematics, Science, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer Applications

Working Conditions

  • Work in a comfortable environment in an office setting
  • Work usually requires visits to construction sites
  • Work may be stressful because of deadlines
  • May need to work more than 40 hours per week
