Job: Purchasing Clerk
Job Description
Purchasing Clerks compile requests for materials, prepare purchase orders, keep track of purchases and supplies, and handle inquiries. Some clerks act more like buyers while others perform strictly clerical functions. In smaller companies, the purchasing clerk may be responsible for overseeing the inventory control system.

- Usually work a 40-hour week
- Most work is performed in an office type setting
- Work may require lifting when putting materials and supplies in order
