Job: Court Clerk
Job Description
Court clerks perform administrative duties in courts of law. They prepare the docket of cases to be called, secure information for judges, and contact witnesses, attorneys and litigants to obtain information for the court.
Necessary Education
High School Diploma
Some college education may be preferred
Helpful High School Courses
English, Mathematics, Business, Computer Applications
Working Conditions
- Usually work in areas that are clean and well lit
- Typically work a standard 40-hour week
- May perform repetitious and stressful duties
- Work may involve eye strain with the use of computers
