Job: Semiconductor Technicians/Processor
Job Description
Semiconductor Technicians/Processors are responsible for the many steps necessary to manufacture microchips that go into a personal computer and a host of other electronic equipment. They make wafers using photolithography and imprint precise microscopic patterns of circuitry on the wafers.
Necessary Education
Associates Degree in Semiconductor or Electronics Technology preferred

Mathematics, Physical Science, Computer Applications
Working Conditions
- Work in clean rooms and work at a deliberately slow pace in order to maintain a dust free, lint free environment
- Work alone
- Work requires standing most of the day and this can be from 8-12 hours during a work day
- Work requires monitoring computer readouts and gauges
- Must work in special lightweight outer garments known as bunny suits and must reclothe in a cleansuit when exiting and re-entering the lab.
