Job: Recreation Worker
Job Description
Recreation Workers organize and lead leisure and athletic activities for all ages. They may also supervise recreational facilities and equipment.
Necessary Education
High School Diploma to Bachelors Degree
Helpful High School Courses
English, Science, Physical Education, Health
Working Conditions
- Work settings vary but may include cruise ships, recreational parks, playgrounds, YMCAs,
or large urban community centers
- Work may be outside in a variety of weather conditions
- Work may be in offices for directors and supervisors
- Work may include risk of suffering an injury during physical activities
- Usually a 40-hour week, but some nights or weekend hours may be required
