Job: Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor

Job Description

Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors help people deal with the personal, social and vocational effects of physical or mental disabilities. They help clients develop a program that will help the client find and keep a job and live independently.

Necessary Education

Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree is preferred

Helpful High School Courses

Biology, Computer Applications, English, Health

Working Conditions:

  • Usually work 40-hour week with occasional evening hours
  • Work may be stressful
  • Work requires high physical and emotional energy required
  • Usually work in an office setting, but home or job visits are necessary

Salary Range

  • 2003, Delaware average annual salary $47,890
  • 2003, Delaware average hourly wage, $23.02
