Job Description

Information Systems Managers plan, coordinate and direct computer related activities. They may supervise computer specialist and information technology workers. They determine technical goals within the broad outlines provided by top management.

Necessary Education

Bachelor’s Degree (Few employers hire with only an Associate Degree)

Helpful High School Courses

Advanced Mathematics, Computer Applications, Physics, Science

Working Conditions

  • Work mostly in an office setting
  • Usually work a 40-hour week, but overtime may be required to meet deadlines
  • Work may include pressure to meet goals in short time frames

  • 2003, Delaware average annual salary, $102,250
  • 2003, Delaware average hourly wage, $49.16
