Data Communications Analyst

Job Description

Network systems and data communications analysts analyze, design, test, and evaluate network systems such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Internet, Intranets, and other data communications systems. They perform network modeling, analysis and planning. They may also research related products and make necessary hardware and software recommendations.

Necessary Education

Varies – some formal college education to Bachelor’s Degree

Working Conditions

  • Normally work in offices or laboratories in comfortable surroundings
  • Usually work about 40 hours a week, but may also work evenings or weekends as necessary
  • May telecommute
  • Susceptible to eye strain, back discomfort, and hand and wrist problems

  • 2003, Delaware average annual salary, $65,300
  • 2003, Delaware average hourly wage, $31.39
