Job: Software Quality Assurance Analyst

Job Description

Software quality assurance analysts perform in-depth testing of products. They diagnose problems, recommend solutions, and determine if program requirements have been met.

Necessary Education

Varies – some formal college education to Bachelor’s Degree

English, Mathematics, Business courses, Computer Applications

Working Conditions

  • Normally work in offices or laboratories in comfortable surroundings
  • Usually work about 40 hours a week, but may also work evenings or weekends as necessary
  • May telecommute

  • 2003, Delaware average hourly wage, $34.20
Career Ladder Information
  • Relevant work experience can be very helpful for obtaining a job
  • May work independently as contractors or self-employed consultants
  • May be promoted to senior or lead systems analyst
  • With leadership ability, may become project managers, managers of information systems, or chief information officers
