Webmasters are responsible for all technical aspects of a website - including performance issues such as speed of access, and for approving site content.

Necessary Education

Varies – Associate’s Degree or certificate; Bachelor’s Degree for more advanced positions.

Computer Applications, Business courses, Science, Mathematics, English, Art

Working Conditions

  • Normally work in offices or laboratories in comfortable surroundings
  • Usually work about 40 hours a week, and may work evenings and weekends to meet deadlines or solve problems
  • Susceptible to eye strain, back discomfort, and hand and wrist problems

  • 2003, Delaware average hourly wage, $35.46
