Job Description

Everything in the physical world is composed of chemicals. Chemists develop and test new chemicals and uses for chemicals. They also work on ways to save energy and reduce pollution. Chemists usually specialize in a field such as research and development, organic substances or organic substances and analysis.

  • Usually works regular hours in offices and laboratories
  • May be exposed to health or safety hazards when handling chemicals

Career Ladder Information
  • Minimum requirement for entry-level position is a Bachelor’s Degree; however, many employers want a Master’s or Doctorate Degree
