Job Description

Geologists study the composition, structure and history of the earth’s crust. They try to find out how rocks were formed and what has happened since their formation. They study the evolution of life by analyzing plant and animal fossils.

Necessary Education

Bachelor’s Degree for entry-level jobs

Biology, Chemistry (Physics), Computer Applications, English, Mathematics, Physics

Working Conditions

  • Work is divided between field-work and office
  • Work may require travel to remote field sites
  • May work in foreign countries
